After the release of Hermanus Koeling a few seasons back and the recent transfer of Keith Dabney to Kalakini CC, Filip Boswijk decided to retire with immediate effect. He stated he can no longer motivate himself to perform on a high level.
Boswijk and Koeling were part of the team from the beginning and were the first riders who got results in the higher divisions and put Team AEK on the map. Together they learned new riders like Einvarður Unnsteinnsson and Felix Lally the fine tricks of Flat Road racing.
Although not as talented as Boswijk, Koeling got some notable results with winning the Divion 2 classic Grasse - Toulon as his biggest result. Boswijk on the other hand never really got notable wins, but with 38 results he really helped the team to where they are now. He even had the honor to ride a race for the national team. After 14 seasons of professional cycling and at the age of 35, he hanged his bike on the willows.
At the moment we have 3 new talents to train and 1 coming at the end of the season, who will hopefully help the team the coming seasons.
